In this course we will explore all aspects of bass playing specific to any genre that the student is interested in. Some of the main topics we will cover are:

Technique,
Expanding repertoire,
Music Theory,
Improvising,
Sight Reading,
and Ear training.

I am currently studying for my Master’s Degree in Jazz performance at the Jazzcampus, Basel. My teachers include: Larry Grenadier, Jeff Ballard, Jorge Rossy and Mark Turner. I have been teaching bass privately and in schools for over six years and I am always proud to guide all my students to their ambitions in music, big or small! I feel that my main strength as a teacher is being able to draw on my real experiences as an active and practicing musician. Although I teach at all levels, I am particularly experienced in working with beginners.

Double Bass across all genres

In this course we will explore in depth the different aspects of interactive Jazz playing in an ensemble setting. In the lessons we will mostly be learning through playing together. Topics include:

Jazz Standards
Time & Feel
Good Sound
Interaction
Improvising
Chord Changes
Swing
