My name is Emanuele Forni, I was born in Milano and I have been living in Switzerland for 20 years. I am a lutenist, guitarist and guitar teacher. I started teaching at the age of 14 and then I completed the whole academic path. Already during this time my tours, concerts and also my teaching started. The instinct of the autodidact to learn something by myself was always essential for me.
The difference between my first lessons and the one of yesterday is not significant. Of course, the pedagogical competence is a little different. Today I understand better what a student needs, because I have more experience. I see music lessons of the future very positively, because we simply need it. We have already seen it during the Corona pandemic that physical presence is absolutely essential. Sure, you can always do an online class, but that human contact is incredibly important. Only then is it possible to develop a feeling for the person and to give that feeling back.
What doesn't make me happy in my job is doing my taxes and organizing all the bureaucracy around teaching including my calendar. All other aspects are very exciting to me. When a child catches on in class and understands something, it motivates you for the next two weeks.
